Quantum Science and Technology
The mission of Quantum Science and Technologies is to explot the properties of quantum mechanics to simplify complex problems, which range from fundamental basic research to practical everyday-life tasks. Constituents that can carry quantum information (qubits), such as atoms, photons or superconducting islands, are carefully manipulated at the microscopic level, and let interact to generate entanglement, an exclusively quantum form of correlation which is key to advantageous performance over classical algorithms. Using these resources, we can pioneer new strategies and revolutionize our capabilities toward: computation, communication, simulation, and sensing.
