Call for admission to the PhD Courses 2026/27 – 42° cycle

The call for applications for the PhDs of the XLII cycle, A.Y. 2026/27, is online.

The call is available at the page https://www.unipd.it/dottorato/bandi-graduatorie" (English version: http://www.unipd.it/en/node/1053).

Applications must be submitted through the online procedure indicated in the call. Application deadline: May 20, 2026, 1 p.m..

Candidates may apply even if they have not yet obtained their degree, provided that they graduate by 30 September 2026. The CV must be prepared and submitted using the designated template (CV_XLII) 

The Department of Physics and Astronomy will fund 22 scholarships: 12 open-topic positions and 10 positions tied to specific research themes. Below you can find a brief overview of the projects funded by the Department:

Evaluation of Qualifications and Admission to the Oral Examination for the 42nd Cycle a.a 26/27

Students admitted to the oral examination are required to attend in Room R at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Via Marzolo 8, Padua, starting from 9:00 a.m. on the date indicated.

Students taking the oral examination via Zoom must connect at 9:00 a.m. on the indicated date using the Zoom link, which will be communicated on Tuesday, June 16.

Instructions for the Oral Examination

The oral examination will last approximately 15 minutes.

Candidates may begin the interview with a presentation of up to 10 minutes, during which they may use presentation slides (e.g., a PowerPoint presentation).
